Preparing for the Annual Coop Board Meeting

So, our annual board meeting is on June 1, and I'm looking for advice. Seems as if, every year, it's the same story. The board members (let me be clear: unpaid, over-worked, and generally good people) sit staring at the rest of us, the board president blasts through the highlights of what they care for us to hear, there's a little diatribe by the same couple, and then the meeting is over. We all scurry away. I'd like to get more out of these meetings. Does anyone have any advice as to how a non-board member might actually do so? What should we do to prepare, besides reading the prospectus prepared in advance by the board? Thanks!
