Sometimes we like to look at options that are reasonably affordable for the average New Yorker, and sometimes, well, we like to think big. This week's pick—a fully updated, 25-foot-wide, $13 million townhouse near Gramercy Park—falls squarely into the latter category.

The five-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bath home has huge entertaining spaces on the main floor, including a grand foyer, a spacious dining room, and a large eat-in kitchen that leads onto a backyard garden and patio:

On the upper levels, you'll find five bedrooms, including a master bedroom with a sizeable walk-in closet. Strangely, none of the bathrooms are pictured, but the listing does note radiant heat floors:

There's a furnished basement, as well, plus a media room that could be turned into an extra bedroom and a gym (not pictured), and a hydraulic elevator to get you between floors when you don't feel like climbing the stairs:

The house is wired throughout with an "ambiet sound system," and also set up with 10-zone air-conditioning and an electronic air-cleaning and humidification system.

It doesn't seem as if the place comes with a key to Gramercy Park, which would make it just about perfect for certain downtown buyers, but when you've got your own private garden, that might not be a deal-breaker.
