Naysayers were ready to wag their scolding finger, but the Second Avenue subway did actually open this week—and to much fanfare. That's why we're back this new year—we ran another list of properties to peruse near the East River last month—with more apartments near the now-no-longer-a-punchline Q extension line that are hosting open houses this weekend. This time, we're featuring large condos that don't require a sit-down with a board and further scrutiny from would-be neighbors that could delay moving into the now transit-gifted far east reaches of the Upper East Side.

400 East 67th Street, Apartment 10F. This two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath has central air and a washer and dryer, and is in a LEED-certified building full of amenities, including a fitness facility with a triathlon training center and pool. Asking price: $2.375 million. Open house: Sunday, January 8, 1 pm to 2:30 pm.

360 East 89th Street, Apartment 10C. This two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath is in a development designed by SHoP Architects that's gilded with perks like a screening room, a music room, a fitness center, and a bike room, and has its own washer and dryer and central heating and cooling. Asking price: $2.62 million. Open house: Saturday, January 7, 2:30 pm to 4 pm.

350 East 82nd Street, Apartment 10A. The city beckons from large windows in this three-bedroom, three-bath in a pet-friendly building with an indoor pool, a residents' lounge, and more. Asking price: $2.725 million. Open house: Sunday, January 8, 12:30 pm to 2 pm.

170 East End Avenue, Apartment 7E. Situated across from pretty Carl Schurz Park, this 2197-square-foot space has en-suite baths accompanying all three bedrooms (plus an extra half bath). Asking price: $4.2 million. Open house: Sunday, January 8, 12 noon to 2 pm.
