This West Village studio may change your mind about sleeping lofts

We've seen quite a few lofted sleeping areas in our day, but none that we can remember being as appealing as the one in this $3,700 furnished studio at 250 Mercer in the West Village.

The 12-foot ceilings in this apartment mean that even the lofted sleeping area doesn't feel all that small.

Sure, you'll need a ladder to get up to your bed, but at least you've got some built-in shelves next to that ladder. And a nice little dining area under your lofted bed.

And what's going on underneath that loft isn't bad either. The apartment has 12-foot ceilings, very attractive furniture, large windows and, thanks to the fact that the bedroom doesn't take up any downstairs space, the main floor has enough room for a large living area and even a separate dining area.

We're suckers for refrigerators that blend into the scenery.

The kitchen is renovated, too, with custom cabinetry and white quartz countertops and high-end appliances.

There's  also a walk-in closet and even some storage space in the lofted area.

The apartment is available February 15, and you'll need to get co-op board approval before then (which could dissuade others who may not be up for the hassle of an extra step). The prewar building has a 24-hour doorman, live-in super, bike storage, laundry on every floor, common courtyard and a rooftop deck.

Located on Mercer between 3rd and 4th Streets, this is prime Greenwich Village. Just take note: It's also prime NYU territory.
