While most everyone else is distracted by all the holiday-ing, savvy buyers know now's a good time to find an apartment since there's less competition around, especially at the under-half-a-million price point, where the choices are few and far between in Manhattan. Here are properties open for visits this weekend:

160 West 77th Street, Apartment 1E. This studio comes with a fairly large, separate kitchen, and is in a building that allows pets with board approval. Asking price: $368,000. Open house: Sunday, December 20, 12 noon to 1 pm.

26 Cornelia Street, Apartment 7. High ceilings and a decorative fireplace add architectural interest to this West Village studio. Asking price: $379,000. Open house: Saturday, December 19, 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.

102 West 85th Street, Apartment 3E. A foyer allows for a gracious entrance into this studio; a fairly large kitchen gives chefs a place to reign. Asking price: $379,000. Open house: Sunday, December 20, 12:30 pm to 2 pm.

415 West 46th Street, Apartment 2D. This studio in Midtown West allows for 10 percent down payments, pied-a-terres, and pets. Asking price: $350,000. Open house: Sunday, December 20, 12 noon to 1 pm.
