The Open House Scorecard: Seventh heaven (apartments under $700k with nice neighborhood amenities to boot!)

Finding a one-plus bedroom for under $700k is not always easy in this city. But this week’s Open House Scorecard -- rounding up the 10 open houses StreetEasy users saved to their open-house calendars more often than any others this weekend -- demonstrates that it isn't impossible.

On the Upper West Side, a one-bedroom, one-bathroom co-op on 99th Street and Broadway is on the market for $599k. The south-facing unit has a separate dining area that can also be used as an office (a half-bedroom if you will). It’s just a stone’s throw from the 1, 2, 3 and just a bit further to the B and C trains. The Columbus Square shopping center -- with Whole Foods, TJ Maxx and more -- is also close by. And it's sandwiched between Riverside and Central Parks. The renovated kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, a deep granite sink and a dishwasher. Electricity is included in the $1,118 maintenance.

Also on the UWS, $575k is enough to buy a one-bedroom, one-bath condo on 77th between West End Avenue and Broadway. In this ground floor unit, the bedroom and a rec room (!) are located below ground, and the kitchen is going to be renovated. It’s a new conversion, so owner financing is available. The brownstone is located near the subway, restaurants, Fairway, Trader Joe’s and Riverside and Central Parks.  Oddly, the apartment was originally listed two months ago at $100,000 less than it's priced today.

A two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo on South Second Street in Williamsburg rings in just under $700k at $685k. Located between Hooper Street and Union Avenue, this convertible loft (with 14’ ceilings) features three private outdoor spaces as well as central heat and a/c, plus automatic blinds and customized surround sound. It’s close to the L, G, J and M trains, and just two stops from Manhattan. Restaurants, bars, cafes and grocery stores are also nearby, and the building has a 20 year tax abatement; right now taxes are just $25/month.

If seven digit price tags don’t send you running for the hills, you might consider a $3.98m two-and-a-half-bedroom, two-bathroom condo in Midtown's Centurion on West 56th (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues). The apartment offers floor-to-ceiling sound-insulated windows. The bathrooms have polished marble floors and soft gray honed marble vanities. The Centurion features a private exercise facility, and there’s a 421A tax abatement until 2020, so monthly taxes are $965.
