This parody video by the new rental-finding site UrbanEdgeNY.com had us at "Hey buddy."

If you own your apartment, you will feel a little better about that fact. If you are a renter whose lease is nearly up, you may go running for your renewal form -- or over to UrbanEdge, an easy-on-the-eyeballs site that serves up free, no-fee listings directly from owners.

The new site doesn't let brokers list apartments (or repackage "scraped" ones), the listings are fresh (two weeks old max), and contact info leads directly to the owner or their on-site representatives.

For a more detailed road test and initial feedback from the vox populi, check out Curbed.
