Finding a spot to barbecue in the city is hard enough.  But because propane grills are illegal here,  Gotham's grillmasters must also contend with dirty, uncooperative, awkward to schlep-and-store charcoal.

If you’ve had just about enough of that, you may want to give uGo FlameDisk a try.  On the market for a little over a year now, the portable peel-and-light disks tuck into your hibachi (larger grills need two) and burn on ethanol for 40 minutes.

You can order FlameDisks online--a 3-pack costs $14.99 plus $5 shipping--or check this list of NYC retailers.   And if you're heading to the beach, you may want to pick up some extra FlameDisks for making s’mores by the sea after the sun goes down.

Have something cool to recommend to your fellow NYC homeowners? Tell us about it here.
