Your Bill of Rights

All agents in BrickUnderground’s referral network have agreed to uphold the standards of professionalism, service and competence set forth in this Client's Bill of Rights:

  1. You have the right to work with an agent who is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and who has agreed to abide by their Code of Ethics.
  2. You have a right to fully understand the exact nature of your relationship with your agent and to have that relationship clearly disclosed in a New York State Agency Disclosure form.
  3. You have the right to work with an agent that has been chosen by our service based on their superior competence, experience, and professionalism.
  4. You have the right to work with an agent that knows the local market well and can properly advise you on the value of property.
  5. You have the right to have your phone calls and e-mail returned in an expeditious manner.
  6. You have the right to request comparables from your agent before making or responding to an offer to buy or sell so that you can be better educated in your decision making process.
  7. You have a right to expect that sensitive information provided to your agent will be guarded with the utmost care and protected from disclosure without your consent.
  8. As a renter, you have the right to request that all fees related to a listing be explained to you in advance of a showing.
  9. As a seller, you have the right to have every showing request responded to and accommodated in a prompt fashion and to request a log of parties who have viewed your property.
  10. As a seller or landlord, you have the right to view your agent’s marketing plan for your property and ensure that it has been adhered to once your property is listed.
  11.  As a landlord, you have the right to request your agent’s assistance in properly qualifying a prospective tenant.
